Lauren McQuade BA PGCCE DipTESOL
Managing Director
Lauren has an international background, having lived and worked in various European countries including Germany, Switzerland and The Netherlands. She also spent 4 years living in Sydney, Australia returning to Scotland in 2003. This experience led Lauren to develop an interest in languages and in meeting people from other cultural backgrounds.
Over the past 10 years Lauren’s career has included work in mainstream education, community education and English language teaching. Her primary interest is in cross-cultural communication and this is has culminated in Lauren establishing ‘English at St Andrews.’
‘My vision for the business is that we should provide more than just simple language courses, but rather highly- personalized and exclusive English training experiences. Partnering with The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa, and incorporating golf and culture into our programmes enables us to do just this. It allows us to deliver high-class experiences that enable people to improve their English in a unique Scottish setting. We are proud to be a family-run business and the personal touch and attention to detail are very important to us.’
Linda McQuade MEd
Cultural Director
Still practising as a tutor, Linda’s entire career has been in education. Supplementing her Masters degree in Education she gained a certificate in Travel & Tourism which was undertaken in Sydney.
Linda has travelled extensively throughout Asia, Australia and Europe, working and living in a number of countries before settling back home in Scotland. Her personal interests include history and travel. She is particularly enthusiastic at the opportunity to share with our clients some of Scotland’s best assets as an integral part of the full EASA programme.
Denis McQuade MA
